On October 18, I opened ten AI visibility tool pricing pages and did one sum on each of them. Take the plan price, then divide it by the number of AI answers the plan checks in a month. The cheapest answer on the list cost about a third of a cent. The most expensive cost about 31 cents, and it's RankControl.
That gap is the most useful thing I can tell you about AI visibility tools, because it shows what you're actually buying. Some plans sell you a huge pile of checked answers. Others sell you fewer checks and then do something with them. This list compares Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit, RankControl, SE Visible, Peec AI, Profound, Writesonic, LLM Pulse, Nightwatch, ZipTie and Otterly.AI on both. Every price and limit was read off each vendor's own pricing page or help docs on October 18, 2026, and we covered the same market by engine in our engine-by-engine list.
The per-answer price, and why it matters
An AI visibility tool asks ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and the rest a set of buyer questions on a schedule, then records whether your brand shows up. Each of those runs is one checked answer. So a plan's real size is prompts times engines times checks per month, and Peec AI's own pricing page describes its monthly AI answers in exactly those terms.
I call the price divided by that number the per-answer price. It matters because one answer tells you very little. A commenter in a recent r/SEO_for_AI thread put it well when a startup founder balked at the $99 floor. One run of a prompt is close to a coin flip, the commenter wrote, so a useful number needs many runs across several engines.
Why the hell are AI Visibility tools so expensive?
For a small startup investing 99$ ( which seems to be the minimum) to track AI Visibility doesn't make sense. But on the other hand it seems like something important because decision make is moving towards GPT's. I saw Otter AI ( or whateve...
That's also why SparkToro's January study, which found the same prompt almost never returned the same brand list twice, sits behind every serious tracker, since more runs per prompt give you a steadier average to watch. Our price-per-tracked-question comparison runs the same math on Ahrefs, AthenaHQ, Scrunch and Similarweb.
Every tool on the same yardsticks
Here's the whole list on one set of columns. The answer counts use each vendor's own figure where it gives one and my own math (prompts times engines times checks) where it doesn't, on monthly billing and a 30-day month.
| Tool | Entry price (monthly) | Engines on that plan | Check rate | Answers a month | Cost per answer | After it finds a gap | Trial |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit | $99 | ChatGPT, AI Mode, AI Overviews | Daily | About 2,250 | About 4.4 cents | Recommendations | 7 days on Semrush One plans |
| RankControl | $400 | 6, Claude and Grok included | Weekly | About 1,300 | About 31 cents | Writes and publishes articles, drafts outreach | 7 days |
| SE Visible | $99 | 5 | Daily | About 30,000 (its figure) | About 0.3 cents | Gap reports | Free trial |
| Peec AI | $95 | 3 you choose | Daily | 4,500 | About 2.1 cents | Source analytics | Free trial |
| Profound | Free trial, then custom | 3 on the trial, up to 9 | Daily | About 1,050 in the trial week | Custom | AI Marketer agents | 7 days |
| Writesonic | $99 ($79 yearly) | 3 | 50 answers a day | About 1,500 | About 6.6 cents | 15 AI articles a month | Free trial |
| LLM Pulse | €79 daily, €49 weekly | 5 | Daily or weekly | 7,500 on daily | About 1 euro cent | Recommendations and a GEO writer | Free trial |
| Nightwatch | €99 (€79 yearly) | Up to 6 listed | Daily | 1,500 (its figure) | About 6.6 euro cents | Content Studio | 14 days |
| ZipTie | $42.75 starter preset | 3 | Mixed daily, weekly, monthly | About 5,400 | About 0.8 cents | $20 content add-on | 7 days, no card |
| Otterly.AI | $29 | 4 | Daily | 1,800 | About 1.6 cents | Recommendations and audits | Free trial |
A few verdicts fall straight out of that table. If you already pay for Semrush, the best pick is its AI Visibility Toolkit, because it adds AI data without a new login. If you want the most checked answers per dollar, the best pick is SE Visible. And if you want the gaps closed as well as counted, the best pick is RankControl, because it's the one here that writes and publishes the missing pages.

You're getting AI traffic. But do you know where it comes from?
RankControl credits every visit to the assistant that sent it: ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Gemini, Copilot, or Grok. Full source attribution, next to your Google traffic.
The 10 best AI visibility tools, compared
1. Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit
Semrush's toolkit costs $99 a month on its own and tracks 25 prompts a day on engines like ChatGPT and Google's AI Mode, per Semrush's knowledge base. The Starter plan at $199 bundles it with the SEO suite and raises prompt tracking to 50 a day. Extra prompts cost $60 a month per 50, which is a cheaper way to grow than moving up a plan.

The weekly Brand Performance reports run a much bigger set of Semrush's own queries in the background, so the 2,250 figure undersells what you see. It ranks first because the AI data sits next to the keyword and backlink numbers Semrush customers already check. Claude and Grok aren't tracked, and the fixes it recommends are yours to make.
2. RankControl
RankControl has the worst per-answer price on this list, and that's on purpose. AI visibility tracking checks 50 buyer questions every week on ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Gemini, Grok and Google AI Mode, against up to 10 competitors. That's about 1,300 answers a month, which is plenty for a weekly trend and thin next to SE Visible's 30,000.

The rest of the $400 goes to the part trackers leave to you. When a question shows a gap, the content engine plans an article, writes it against the pages already ranking and publishes it to your CMS once you approve it, up to 100 pages a month. A new citation sends you a notification. The plan has a 7-day free trial, and the free AI visibility check shows where ChatGPT cites you before you start one.
3. SE Visible
| SE Visible | |
|---|---|
| Entry plan | Basic, $99 a month or $79 billed yearly |
| Prompts | 200, about 30,000 AI answers a month |
| Engines | ChatGPT, Gemini, AI Mode, Perplexity, AI Overviews |
| Projects | 3 |
SE Ranking's standalone tracker wins the per-answer contest by a mile, at roughly a third of a cent. Its own pricing page states the 30,000 figure, which is what 200 prompts on five engines checked daily works out to.

It doesn't cover Claude or Grok, and it stops at showing you the gap. Our RankControl vs SE Ranking comparison covers the wider SE Ranking suite.
4. Peec AI
Peec charges $95 a month for 50 prompts on three models you pick from a base list, checked daily, with unlimited users on every plan. That's 4,500 answers and about two cents each. Pro at $245 triples the prompts, but you stay on three models until Enterprise, which opens the full list of up to 13.

Unlimited seats make it an easy fit for agencies, and its source analytics show which domains the engines lean on for your category. We go deeper in our Peec AI alternatives list.

5. Profound
Profound doesn't publish a paid price. The trial runs 50 prompts a day for seven days on ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews, which is about 1,050 answers, and after that it's a custom Enterprise quote with up to nine engines, Claude and Copilot among them.

It goes further than tracking with its AI Marketer, which runs on credits and can draft and publish work. A week of data is a short sample though, so plan what you want to learn from it before you start. See RankControl vs Profound for the side-by-side.
6. Writesonic
Writesonic's Starter plan reads "50 prompts, 50 answers tracked daily", which is the detail worth slowing down on. Three engines are listed, but the plan checks 50 answers a day in total, so it's about 1,500 a month at $99, or $79 a month billed yearly.

What you get for that is 15 AI articles a month in the same login. Basic at $199 jumps to 300 answers a day, and the full Action Center that ships fixes only arrives on Enterprise.
7. LLM Pulse
LLM Pulse prices by how often it checks. Starter is €49 a month for weekly tracking or €79 for daily, both with 50 prompts on five models. Those are ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini plus Google's AI Mode and AI Overviews. Daily works out to 7,500 answers and about a euro cent each.

Claude and Grok are paid add-ons. For a European team that wants five engines without an enterprise call, it's a strong buy. Our RankControl vs LLM Pulse comparison goes through the two in detail.
8. Nightwatch
Nightwatch is a rank tracker first. Starter is €99 a month, or €79 billed yearly, for 500 keywords and 50 AI prompts, and the pricing table puts AI answers at 1,500 a month.

The page lists six AI platforms, Claude included, yet 1,500 answers for 50 daily prompts only adds up to one answer per prompt per day. Ask which engine each prompt runs on during the 14-day trial. Our RankControl vs Nightwatch comparison covers the rank tracking side.
9. ZipTie
ZipTie has no tiers at all. You pick engines, then set how many prompts run daily, weekly and monthly, and the page states the unit price plainly as one prompt, one engine, one check for a cent. The starter preset comes to $42.75 a month for about 5,400 answers on three engines.

The trial gives you 25 daily prompts for seven days with no card. Content generation is a $20 add-on per brand, and ZipTie doesn't refund paid plans, so use the trial.
10. Otterly.AI
Otterly is the cheapest door in. Lite costs $29 a month for 15 prompts on ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity and Copilot, checked daily, which is 1,800 answers. Claude, Gemini and AI Mode are add-ons, and no plan lists Grok.
Fifteen prompts is a thin base for a share-of-voice number, but it's a cheap way to learn whether AI tracking changes anything your team does. Standard at $189 moves you to 100 prompts and adds API access.
What the per-answer price doesn't tell you
Cheap answers only help if you trust them. In an r/SEO thread about checking whether a tracker pulls live answers, the original poster's rule was to trust only a tool that stores the full answer with its date and cited sources, and the replies agreed.
How do you verify an AI visibility tracker is actually pulling live answers?
Been messing around with a couple of AI visibility tools and got paranoid about whether the scores are even real. Without web search on, ChatGPT and Gemini can answer purely from training data that's up to a year stale, so if a tool is quie...
So during any trial, open three tracked prompts and run them yourself in a fresh chat. If the tool can't show the answer text behind its score, the per-answer price is buying you a number you can't check. Our guide to what to look for in an AI visibility tool has the full demo checklist.
The second blind spot is bigger. Every tracker here will find gaps faster than a small team can close them, because a gap usually means a page that doesn't exist yet. If one good article takes four to six hours to write, plus half an hour to publish and link and a couple more for outreach, ten gaps a month is 65 to 85 hours of someone's time.
Which AI visibility tool fits your team
| If you... | The best pick is |
|---|---|
| Already pay for Semrush | Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit |
| Want gaps closed with published pages | RankControl |
| Want the most answers for $99 | SE Visible |
| Run an agency with many seats | Peec AI |
| Have an enterprise budget | Profound |
| Want articles and tracking in one login | Writesonic |
| Want five engines in euros | LLM Pulse |
| Mostly need Google rank tracking | Nightwatch |
| Want to pay only for checks you run | ZipTie |
| Are testing on a small budget | Otterly.AI |
The pick
If you only need to know where you stand, buy answers cheaply. SE Visible gives you the most of them, and Otterly or ZipTie let you start for $29 to about $43 a month.
If the tracker already told you where you're missing, the per-answer price stops being the cost that matters. You can close every gap by hand, writing, publishing and pitching each page, then checking six engines every week. Or RankControl can do that work every month for $400, with a 7-day free trial, while you focus on your product.
