Terms of Service

1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using RankControl (“rctrl.com”, “RankControl”, “we”, “us”, or “our”), a service operated by RankControl, LLC, a Delaware limited liability company, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (the “Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not access or use the service. If you use the service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you are authorized to bind that organization to these Terms.

2. Description of Service

RankControl is an AI SEO and content platform that helps you create content optimized for Google rankings and AI citations, publish it to your own website, and identify promotion and link-building opportunities. Our services include:

• AI-assisted content generation and publishing
• Content publishing to your own website via CMS integrations (WordPress plugin, CMS APIs, webhooks, and headless/Content API)
• AI visibility monitoring across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Gemini, and other AI platforms
• Traffic, ranking, and AI crawler analytics for content published through the Service
• Link Control tools, including discovery of outreach prospects and social threads, AI-generated draft outreach emails and draft social replies, link-network coordination (link placements between participating customers), and backlink services

Assistive, human-in-the-loop features. Several Link Control features are assistive. We surface opportunities and generate drafts and suggestions; you review, edit, and decide whether and how to send, post, or act on them. We do not automatically send outreach emails or post replies to third-party platforms on your behalf unless expressly stated in the service.

Features marked as upcoming.Parts of the service may be labeled “coming soon”, “beta”, or similar (for example, features shown on the roadmap). These labels describe work that is not yet available. They are not a commitment to deliver any feature by any date, or at all, and we may change or cancel them. Your subscription buys the service as it exists today; do not base a purchase decision on functionality that is not currently available.

3. Account Registration

To use certain features, you must create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You must provide accurate and complete information during registration.

4. Team Accounts and Seats

Your subscription may allow you to invite additional users (team members) to your account. The account owner, the organization that created and pays for the account, is responsible for all activity under the account, including the acts and omissions of every invited user, and for ensuring each user complies with these Terms. You are responsible for managing user access and for promptly removing users who should no longer have access. Access rights vary by role; assigning a role to a user does not transfer ownership of, or liability for, the account.

5. Subscription and Billing

The subscription is billed monthly or annually via Stripe and begins with a 30-day free trial. By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis once the trial ends. You may cancel at any time (including during the trial, at no charge) and your subscription will remain active through the end of your current billing period.

• RankControl ($400/mo or $4,000/yr): 100 pages/month, 50 tracked queries, all AI models, Google and Bing rank tracking, priority support
• Dedicated Strategist add-on ($1,500/mo): optional; billed separately, no free trial, cancellable independently of the base subscription

Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period at the then-current rate until you cancel. We may change our fees or plan features on prospective notice; changes take effect at your next renewal, and continued use after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the new fees. All fees are exclusive of applicable taxes; where we are required to collect tax, it will be added to your invoice. Cancellations, refunds, and tax treatment are described in our Refund & Cancellation Policy. You agree not to initiate chargebacks or payment disputes without first contacting us to resolve the issue; bad-faith or fraudulent chargebacks may result in suspension of your account.

6. Your Materials and License to Us

You may provide, or direct us to collect from sources you control, materials including your website content, brand assets, logos, trademarks, product information, and other content (collectively, “Your Materials”). You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, adapt, and process Your Materials solely to operate and provide the service to you, including generating content, building your brand profile, and publishing approved content to destinations you connect.

You represent and warrant that you own or have all rights necessary to provide Your Materials and to grant this license, and that our use of Your Materials as described will not infringe or violate the rights of any third party. Where the service scrapes or imports content from a website (for example, to build your brand profile or analyze competitors), you represent that you are authorized to direct that collection and that it does not violate the source website's terms or applicable law. You are responsible for the accuracy of Your Materials and for maintaining your own backups.

7. Content Ownership

All content generated by RankControl for your account is owned by you. We retain no rights to your generated content once published. You are responsible for ensuring the content is used lawfully and does not infringe on third-party rights.

8. Your Content Responsibilities

Because content produced through the service is published under your name and on your own website, you are the publisher of that content. Before publishing, sending, or otherwise using any output, you will review it, and you represent that, as used by you, it: (a) is accurate and not misleading; (b) does not infringe any copyright, trademark, or other intellectual-property right; (c) is not defamatory, unlawful, or deceptive; (d) complies with applicable advertising, disclosure, and industry-specific rules (for example, regulated claims in health, finance, or legal topics); and (e) complies with the policies of any platform or search engine on which it appears. You, not RankControl, are responsible for the content you publish and its consequences.

9. No Guarantee of Results

RankControl provides tools and services to support your content, visibility, and link-building efforts. We do not guarantee any particular outcome, including search-engine rankings, inclusion or citation in AI systems, traffic, impressions, leads, conversions, backlink placements, or responses to outreach. Search engines, AI platforms, and third-party websites operate independently and control their own ranking, citation, indexing, and moderation decisions. Results depend on many factors outside our control.

10. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the service for any unlawful, deceptive, or fraudulent purpose
• Distribute spam, malware, or harmful content
• Send outreach or post content in violation of applicable law or the rules of any third-party platform
• Engage in astroturfing, or post endorsements without disclosing material connections where disclosure is required
• Publish or send content generated by the service without first reviewing it
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or interfere with the platform
• Resell or redistribute the service without authorization
• Generate or distribute content that is defamatory, infringing, harassing, or misleading

11. Outreach, Social Engagement, and Link Building

Certain features help you discover opportunities and draft communications for outreach, social engagement, link exchanges, and backlink building. Because you decide whether and how to use these drafts and opportunities, you are solely responsible for all messages you send, replies you post, and links you pursue, and for the consequences of doing so. In particular:

• Third-party platform compliance. You are responsible for complying with the terms of service, community rules, and policies of any platform or website you engage, including Reddit, X (Twitter), other social networks, search engines, and email and CMS providers. We are not responsible or liable for any suspension, ban, rate-limiting, content removal, loss of accounts, or other action taken by any third party as a result of your use of these features.
• Email outreach and anti-spam laws.If you use the service to draft or conduct email outreach, you are the sender of those communications and are responsible for compliance with all applicable laws, including the CAN-SPAM Act (US), Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL), and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and ePrivacy rules. You represent that you have a lawful basis to contact each recipient, that your messages contain accurate header and sender information and a functioning opt-out mechanism, and that you will promptly honor unsubscribe and deletion requests.
• Social engagement and disclosure.When posting replies or other content on social platforms, you will comply with the self-promotion, spam, and automation rules of each community, and you will disclose material connections where required by law, including the U.S. Federal Trade Commission's endorsement guidelines. You will not engage in astroturfing, vote manipulation, or deceptive endorsement practices.
• Link building and search-engine risk.Link exchanges, paid or reciprocal links, sponsored placements, and large-scale outreach may be treated by search engines as violations of their spam or link policies (for example, Google's Search Essentials and link-spam policies) and may result in manual actions, ranking demotions, or de-indexing of your website. You acknowledge and accept this inherent risk with respect to your own domain, and you are responsible for using appropriate link attributes and following applicable guidelines. We do not guarantee that any link will be placed, retained, or counted, or that link-building activity will not adversely affect your site.

12. Managed Backlinks

We offer a managed backlink service (a paid add-on, not included in the base subscription) in which we coordinate the placement of links to your website on third-party sites. If you purchase this service, you acknowledge that:

• Placements are made on websites operated by independent third parties over whom we have no control. We do not guarantee that any particular link will be placed, accepted, indexed, retained, or counted by any search engine, or that a placement will improve your rankings or traffic.
• Links obtained through outreach, exchange, or paid placement may be treated by search engines as violations of their link-spam policies and may result in manual actions or ranking demotions on your site. You accept this risk with respect to your own domain, as described in the Outreach, Social Engagement, and Link Building section above.
• If a purchased placement is not delivered within a reasonable period, your remedy is limited to a replacement placement or a credit for that placement, at our discretion. Fees for delivered placements are non-refundable.
• We may decline to pursue placements that we consider unlawful, deceptive, or inconsistent with these Terms.

13. Publishing Integrations

We publish approved articles to your website through integrations you connect, such as the RankControl WordPress plugin, your CMS's API, or a webhook endpoint. Published articles are hosted and served by your own site. You are responsible for keeping your integration connected (e.g. keeping the plugin installed and its key valid) and for your site's own availability. We are not liable for downtime or issues arising from your site, hosting, or CMS configuration.

14. API, Webhooks, and Developer Terms

We may provide API access, API keys, and outbound webhooks so you can integrate the service with your own systems (for example, the Content API for headless sites). If you use these features:

• You are responsible for keeping your API keys and webhook signing secrets confidential, and for all activity that occurs using your keys. You must rotate or revoke a key promptly if it is exposed.
• You must respect rate limits and must not use the API to overload, probe, or circumvent the service, to access data belonging to other customers, or to build a competing product.
• Outbound webhooks are delivered to endpoints you configure. You are responsible for the security and availability of those endpoints and for verifying delivery signatures. We are not liable for data exposed by, or losses arising from, an endpoint you control.
• We may modify, deprecate, rate-limit, or discontinue API endpoints and webhook features, and will use reasonable efforts to provide notice of material breaking changes.

15. AI-Generated Content

Content, drafts, replies, and suggestions produced by the service are generated using artificial intelligence and may contain inaccuracies, errors, outdated information, or material that unintentionally resembles third-party content. Such output is provided for your review and does not constitute legal, financial, or professional advice. You are responsible for reviewing, editing, fact-checking, and verifying the legality and originality of any output before you publish, send, or otherwise use it.

16. Third-Party Data and Services

The service relies on third-party data providers and APIs (including search-data, social-data, and AI providers) to surface opportunities, metrics, and insights. This data may be incomplete, inaccurate, delayed, or unavailable, and is provided without warranty. Your use of any connected third-party service is also subject to that provider's own terms.

17. Non-Affiliation

The service references and interoperates with third-party platforms, search engines, and AI systems, including Google, ChatGPT and OpenAI, Anthropic and Claude, Perplexity, Google Gemini, Microsoft Copilot, xAI and Grok, Reddit, and X (Twitter), among others. These names, logos, and trademarks are the property of their respective owners. RankControl is an independent service and is not endorsed by, sponsored by, affiliated with, or certified by any of these companies. References to them are for identification and interoperability only.

18. Data and Privacy

Your use of our service is also governed by our Privacy Policy. We collect and process data as described therein. Where we process personal data of your website's visitors on your behalf (for example, through our analytics embeds), we act as your data processor, and that processing is governed by our Data Processing Addendum, which forms part of these Terms where it applies to you. You are responsible for your own privacy disclosures and for obtaining any consents required from your visitors.

19. Service Availability

We strive for high uptime but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may perform maintenance, updates, or modifications that temporarily affect availability. We are not liable for any losses due to service interruptions.

20. Disclaimer of Warranties

The service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and any warranties arising from course of dealing or usage of trade. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that it will produce any particular result.

21. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, RankControl and its officers, employees, and suppliers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, rankings, or business opportunities, arising out of or relating to your use of the service, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the service or these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

22. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless RankControl and its officers, employees, and suppliers from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your use of the service; (b) content, outreach, replies, or links you send, post, publish, or pursue; (c) your violation of these Terms or any applicable law; and (d) your violation of the rights or policies of any third party, including any platform or website you engage.

23. Feedback

If you send us feedback, suggestions, feature requests, or ideas about the service, you grant us a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, implement, and commercialize that feedback for any purpose, without any obligation, attribution, or compensation to you. You are not required to provide feedback, and any feedback you provide is non-confidential.

24. Intellectual Property and DMCA

Except for Your Materials and content generated for your account, the service (including its software, design, text, and the RankControl name and logo) is owned by RankControl, LLC and its licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. These Terms grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service; they do not grant you any right in our trademarks or other intellectual property.

We respond to notices of alleged copyright infringement. If you believe content published or processed through the service infringes your copyright, send a notice through our contact formthat includes: identification of the copyrighted work; identification and location of the allegedly infringing material; your contact information; a statement of good-faith belief that the use is unauthorized; a statement that the information is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are authorized to act on the owner's behalf; and your physical or electronic signature. We will remove or disable access to infringing material where appropriate and may terminate the accounts of repeat infringers.

25. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these terms. Upon termination, your right to use the service ceases immediately. You may export your data within 30 days of termination.

26. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or through the platform. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

27. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. You agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Delaware for any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the service. The service is operated by RankControl, LLC, a Delaware limited liability company.
