Ranked AI sells done-for-you SEO, and the software comes along with it. That turns RankControl vs Ranked AI into a question about how you want the work done. For $99 to $349 a month per website, Ranked's team drafts articles with AI, fixes technical issues on your site, builds a few links and reports back on rankings and AI answers. RankControl's agents run that same loop in software for one $400 plan, at a much higher volume.
Calling either one a pure tool would be wrong. Ranked has an app, an MCP server and a new software-only tier, while RankControl has people behind its strategist add-on. Where they really split is how much lands on your site each month, and what you can prove it did in AI search.
The Ranked AI details below come from its own pages and terms, which I read on September 26, 2026. Already on your way out? Our Ranked AI switch guide covers cleaning up the access you granted.

What Ranked AI is in 2026
Ranked AI, LLC is a Miami company that began around 2016 as a white-label SEO provider for agencies, and that business never went away. Agencies can still resell its SEO and ads work under their own brand at the same per-site prices, and client invites go out from an unbranded domain.
The software has grown fast around that service:
| When | What Ranked added |
|---|---|
| December 2025 | A new app, with AI prompt tracking the same month |
| April | An MCP server |
| May | A REST API |
| Also this year | An AI agent in each project, and a hosted blog CMS |
| September | A software-only tier at $4.99 a month per 100 tracked keywords or prompts, with no team involved |
That last row is the one I'd watch, since it lets you buy Ranked's software without its team.
Customers seem happy with it. When I checked, its Trustpilot page showed 4.7 stars from 225 reviews. Ranked's own pages quote 4.5 and 4.6, so the live score was a little higher than the one it advertises.

The first week on each tool
The first thing Ranked needs from you is access. Its service plans open with a 7-day trial and a card on file, and onboarding asks for editor access to your site, either through an invite to a Ranked address or by connecting its hosted blog. An onboarding checklist covers granting that access on every major CMS. If you'd rather not grant it, the team sends a document for you to implement instead.
After that, Ranked aims to have the technical fixes done within the first month, and your first articles show up in an approval queue.
RankControl's first week is mostly about correcting its guesses. The trial is also seven days, with the card up front and $0 charged today, and setup reads your site to draft your brand profile, products, buyers and competitors for you to fix. Once a CMS is connected and you've added up to 50 questions and 10 competitors, the first weekly check runs across six engines, and the planner builds a calendar from the questions you're losing.
200+ SaaS teams already track their AI citations.
They know exactly when ChatGPT mentions their brand, and when it stops. Do you?

The delivery count
The fairest way to set a service against software is what I call the delivery count: what lands on your site each month, counted rather than described. Every pitch deck promises "content, links, technical SEO" in some form, and only the numbers tell two offers apart. Here's the count, per website:
| Each month | Ranked Standard | Ranked Plus | Ranked Enterprise | RankControl |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Price | $99 | $198 | $349 | $400 |
| Billed yearly, as one charge | $79 a month | $158 a month | $279 a month | $4,000 a year |
| Articles | One a week, about four a month | Two a week | Four a week, about 17 a month | Up to 100 pages, 26 content types |
| Links | Roughly four | Roughly eight | Roughly 16 | Outreach for every published article |
| Managed Google Ads, separate plan at the same price | Ad budgets up to $2,500 | Up to $10,000 | Up to $25,000 | No |
Standard also comes with 25 focus keywords and unlimited web copy, and Plus doubles that whole package. Ranked says its links come from outreach to local and niche publishers and aren't guaranteed. On the ads plan your ad spend is billed on top, and I found no discount for buying SEO and ads together.
Our $400 includes 50 tracked questions as well. Set it against Ranked's biggest plan and the gap works out to about 83 pages a month for $51 more.
The r/SEO crowd reached for the same test in September, in a thread about a business quoted $2,600 a month for SEO. The most upvoted practical reply asked whether "content creation and publishing" meant one page a month, five or fifty. Another told the owner to ask exactly what gets delivered each month and how progress is measured.
Quoted $2,600 / mo for SEO services
Had a meeting today with an SEO company. They offer 20 hrs / month of SEO work for $2600 / mo. Their pitch deck included in-depth website audit, backlink building, content creation and publishing, and technical SEO. I’m not technically illi...
RankControl vs Ranked AI on AI visibility
On paper, Ranked's tracking covers a lot. The prompt tracker checks six engines, Grok and Meta among them, and on service plans prompts are unlimited, with the team adding them for you. Google AI Mode sits in keyword tracking instead, as a daily ranking channel. A competitors tab added in April lists each rival domain's appearances, average position and AI citations.
What I can't tell you is how often those prompts actually run. Ranked's marketing says they're rechecked weekly, while the help doc for adding prompts says once a month.
Then there's what Ranked calls AI search indexing. According to its docs, browser agents submit your sitemap to ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Grok and ask them to read your pages, and Ranked says that puts you in their internal index. No AI company documents an index you can submit to that way, so I'd treat it as a submission receipt rather than a result, much like the indexing pings in our RankControl vs Indexly comparison.
The bigger gap is proof. Ranked publishes 32 customer case studies, and every one of them reports Google rankings. Not one reports an AI citation, an AI answer or traffic that came from one.
RankControl checks your questions weekly on six engines, with Google AI Mode reported on its own. Every check shows which competitors were named instead of you and which sources the answer quoted. A new citation triggers a notification, and the weekly brief lists what you gained.
Content and publishing
Ranked is upfront about who writes. Its FAQ says it primarily uses AI, with several models checking each draft and a human QA pass before you see it. Articles average about 1,000 words and come to you as drafts, which you approve or send back for a revision that takes one to two working days. The low volume is deliberate, by Ranked's account: fewer articles, so each one gets a human edit.

Publishing can go two ways. Ranked either posts to your own site through editor access or hosts an AI-ready blog on your domain, usually on a subdomain, and its changelog recommends the hosted route. Since May, posts on that hosted blog also go out to your Google Business Profile. If you leave, the hosted blog stays up for a year, with an option to export.
RankControl's content engine plans titles from the questions you're losing and writes each article against the pages already ranking for its keyword. It publishes native posts through one of nine destinations, and auto-publish stays off until you turn it on.
Links and site work
Ranked's links come from outreach to media sites that are local or relevant to your business, and each link points at one of the weekly articles on your site. Expect the first ones in month two or three. The outreach runs in English only.
With RankControl, Link Control finds prospects and contacts for every article you publish and sends the pitch from your own mailbox after you approve it. Follow-ups stop when someone replies. Managed Backlinks adds five links a month from DR 25+ sites for $350.
Where Ranked goes further is hands-on work on your site. For $99 a month its team fixes technical and schema issues, optimizes your Google Business Profile and posts to it weekly, and a managed Google Ads plan is available alongside. RankControl doesn't touch your site's code, your Business Profile or your ads.
Working from Claude
You can drive either product from an AI assistant. Ranked published a ChatGPT app in January, and its MCP server has 22 tools for reading rankings and AI visibility, approving content and requesting topics. Its REST API covers keyword and prompt history. RankControl's MCP server has 80+ tools across tracking, planning, writing and publishing, and publishing through it stays a dry run until you confirm.
Reporting
Ranked's reporting is built with agencies in mind. Each project's rankings, audits, backlinks and content views update daily, and reports go out as PDFs, scheduled emails or links that refresh themselves, any of which can carry an agency's branding. An AI voice agent answers questions about the project, and for $49 a month per project a senior specialist will record a video walkthrough.
RankControl's dashboard shows your citations and share of voice next to the progress of each article. A weekly email sums up new citations, ranking moves and visits from AI answers, and the analytics log AI crawler visits on your own domain and sync Search Console daily.
The white-label question
Ranked's own pages say agencies resell its entire SEO and ads work under their own brand, and that its wholesale price supports retail plans of $300 to $800 a month. So if a local agency sells you SEO in that range, it may be Ranked's $99 or $198 plan underneath. The giveaway is an access invite from an unbranded address instead of your agency's domain.
There's nothing wrong with that, since an agency adds its own time on top, but you should know what you're paying for. In August a construction business owner asked r/smallbusiness whether a $1,750-a-month SEO service could be replaced by a tool, because so much of it felt automatable. The replies split between judging the service on leads by source and leaving alone something that was paying off.
Is paying for seo for my construction biz really worth it?
I pay about $1750 a month for seo for my website. Realistically its been about 8 months with them and have gotten decent results with a decent roi. But realistically I can’t tell if it would just be better to part ways and use some kind of...
How often does ChatGPT mention your brand?
Most founders have no idea. The answer might surprise you.

Trials, refunds and cancelling
Ranked runs month to month, with a 7-day trial and a card up front, and when you cancel, the plan runs to the end of the period. The terms are strict from there: all purchases are final, and unused deliverables expire after a year. Any dispute goes to arbitration in Singapore under Delaware law.
RankControl's trial is seven days with nothing charged today. Cancelling takes effect at the end of the billing period, there are no pro-rated refunds, and your articles stay in your CMS.
RankControl vs Ranked AI: which wins AI search visibility?
For AI search visibility I'd pick RankControl, on volume and on proof. It publishes up to 100 pages a month on your own site and pitches the sites AI engines already cite, from your mailbox. Each week you see which answers named you across six engines. Ranked's delivery count tops out at about 17 articles a month on its largest plan, and none of its published results measure AI answers.
Ranked's low price does buy hands-on site work. If the goal is getting cited by ChatGPT, Perplexity and the rest, though, the page count and the outreach are what move the answer.
You can run that loop yourself, or RankControl's agents can run it for you, starting with a 7-day free trial. Before you decide, the free AI visibility check shows who ChatGPT cites today for three questions from your market.
