Averi's analytics page has one line worth reading slowly. The dashboard, it says, sets your search data and traffic next to "AI search referrals," so that you can "see what's working."
A referral is a visit. Averi counts each click-through from ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini or Claude, which shows you when an answer sent someone over. Answers that mention you and send nobody leave no trace in that count, and neither does the competitor an engine picked over you. Most of the distance between Averi and RankControl comes down to that blind spot. We went through Averi's site, changelog, pricing page and terms for every detail below on September 26, 2026.
RankControl vs Averi: the short answer
Averi calls itself an AI content engine, and it's aimed at startups. You point it at your site and it works out the brand, then lays out pillars, finds the gaps in them and drafts articles that come scored for Google and for AI. Publishing goes to your CMS, and the reporting covers traffic, AI referrals included. You'll pay $99 or $199 a month.
RankControl runs the whole AI search visibility pipeline on a single $400 plan. Buyer questions become titles, the titles become published articles with link outreach drafted behind them, and every week 50 of your queries go to six AI engines.
We'd choose RankControl. Writing for AI answers is common ground, but the weekly check on whether those answers include you is RankControl's alone, and so is the link building that makes it more likely.

What Averi is
Averi, Inc. is based in New York, and Zack Holland runs it as founder and CEO. What's on sale now dates from a relaunch on January 14, 2026. The product came back as "Averi 3.0: The AI Content Engine," no longer pitched as an AI marketing manager. A $3 million seed round, announced in September, took the total raised to $5.3 million.
On Product Hunt in October 2024, Averi was an AI marketing manager with vetted human experts available through a marketplace. None of its four current feature pages mention experts, so if they're what drew you to Averi, ask the team whether the plan you'd buy still includes them.
The four pages describe these parts:
| Part | What it does |
|---|---|
| Brand Core | Reads your site for products, positioning and voice, and stores your buyers and competitors |
| Strategy Map | Groups your content into pillars and finds gaps |
| AI Drafting | Writes each piece and gives it a Content Score from 0 to 100, weighted 55% SEO and 45% GEO |
| Analytics | Brings Search Console, GA4 and AI referrals into one view |

Averi wins on two counts: it's cheaper, and it doesn't cap drafts. Solo gets you unlimited optimized drafts for $99 a month, and you can try it for 14 days first. RankControl's plan costs $400 and stops at 100 pages a month.

Your competitors are getting cited by AI. You're not.
Every day without citation tracking is a day your competitors pull ahead in ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Claude.
AI referrals or AI citations
The analytics FAQ spells out the scope: "AI search referrals from ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, and Claude." It builds those numbers from Search Console and GA4, topped up with Averi's own referral monitoring.

Clicks are the problem. A referral count can only log the visits that happened, and after reading an AI answer, most people don't click anything. In March 2025, Pew Research Center tracked the searches of 900 US adults. When an AI summary showed up, 8% of visits ended with a click on an ordinary result, compared with 15% on searches without one. Whenever an engine names you and nobody clicks, a referral report never hears about it, and it can't say who was named in your place.
RankControl looks at both the click and the answer. Its analytics count AI crawler visits and the people who arrive from an AI answer, while AI visibility tracking sends all 50 of your tracked queries to Averi's four engines plus Grok and Google AI Mode once a week. You see which engines cited you, which competitors got the mention instead and what sources the answers drew on, clicks or no clicks.
Writing and scoring
Here the tools are closest. Averi grades every draft twice, once for SEO and once for GEO, and it spells GEO out as "citation-worthiness, extractability, entity authority, and LLM accessibility." A check that lowers the score arrives with a recommendation, and drafting starts from a brief that already holds the keyword and the outline.
RankControl's content engine plans titles from your buyers' questions, then writes every article with the pages that already rank for that keyword in view. Each one gets a score for how easily an AI engine could quote it, plus a list of fixes. It writes in 26 formats, from guides to comparisons and alternatives pages.
So far they're level. The split comes after publishing.
A pre-publish score can only predict. It checks that a page has what quoted pages tend to have: clear answers and named sources count for a lot, and so does a clean structure. It can't know whether ChatGPT will prefer your page to a rival's on one particular question, because that turns on everything else written about the topic and on who links where. To find out, you ask the engines once the page is up, and you keep asking, since their answers shift week by week.
Publishing, links and social
Publishing is close to a tie. Averi's pricing promises "native CMS integrations & webhooks" and "content scheduling and auto-publish," and there are integration pages on its site for WordPress, Webflow and Framer. All three are among the nine destinations where RankControl posts natively, alongside Shopify, Ghost, Notion and Wix. Its auto-publish stays off until you enable it.
Links aren't close at all. The linking Averi does is internal, built from your sitemap, and neither its feature pages nor its pricing mention outreach or link building. That's a real hole, because AI engines lean on what the rest of the web says about you. In RankControl, Link Control looks for prospects around every published article and writes the outreach, which you send from your own mailbox. Managed Backlinks, at $350 a month, brings in five links from DR 25+ sites every month.
On social, Averi's plans come with optimized LinkedIn content. RankControl drafts posts for eight platforms from every article, LinkedIn and X included, and can send them on to Postiz. Its Social agent also finds Reddit and X threads your articles answer and drafts a reply.
200+ SaaS teams already track their AI citations.
They know exactly when ChatGPT mentions their brand, and when it stops. Do you?

Pricing and cancellation
Averi has two plans to RankControl's one, and their terms differ too:
| Averi | RankControl | |
|---|---|---|
| Plans | Solo at $99/mo; Team at $199/mo, adding up to three teammates with admin, editor and view-only roles | One plan at $400/mo or $4,000/yr, with five seats |
| Included | Unlimited optimized drafts, weekly reports and an AI discoverability audit on both plans | 100 new pages a month, 50 tracked queries on six engines, publishing, outreach drafts and social drafts |
| Trial | 14 days, free | 7 days, card up front, $0 due today |
| Leaving | Auto-renews; cancel at least 30 days before renewal | Cancel from your account at any point before renewal |
Averi's pricing page and its terms don't quite agree. One says "Cancel Anytime." The other has subscriptions auto-renewing and says you must "cancel at least 30 days before renewal," which puts your real deadline 30 days ahead of the renewal date.
A second clock starts when you leave. You have 30 days from the end of the subscription to download what you made, and Averi "may delete your content after 90 days." Fees are "generally" non-refundable.
What the money buys:
| What you're paying for | Averi Solo | RankControl |
|---|---|---|
| Monthly price | $99 | $400 |
| Drafts | Unlimited | 100 pages a month |
| AI answer tracking | Referral visits, four engines | 50 queries, six engines, weekly |
| Link outreach | Not included | Included; managed links $350/mo |
| Social drafts | 8 platforms, plus Reddit and X replies |
Working from an AI assistant
Averi doesn't list an API or an MCP server anywhere we looked. RankControl's plan includes an MCP server and CLI with 80+ tools, so you can ask Claude, Cursor or Codex how your visibility changed across the six engines, or have it plan titles, then draft and publish an article. Anything that publishes pauses as a dry run for your confirmation.
Your first month with each
| Week | Averi | RankControl |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Brand Core reads your site; Strategy Map suggests pillars | Setup reads your site; you correct the brand profile and add queries |
| 2 | Draft and score the first pieces | First titles planned; you approve them |
| 3 | Publish to your CMS; schedule more | Articles publish; outreach drafts arrive |
| 4 | Check traffic and AI referrals | Fourth weekly check on six engines |
By week four, an Averi customer has articles live and a traffic dashboard with AI referrals in it. A RankControl customer has live articles too, plus outreach in progress and four weekly checks on whether AI engines cite them. The next month is where they separate, since this week's answers can be set against last month's to trace which new pages moved them.
Questions to ask before you choose
Think first about the number you'll report each month. If it's traffic, visits from AI included, Averi's analytics will give it to you. If what matters is whether ChatGPT and Perplexity mention you when a buyer asks what to use, only a tool that asks them can tell you.
Somebody also has to earn links. A page with no links and no mentions is a hard one for an engine to quote, so decide who owns that job before you decide on software.
Averi wants 30 days' notice before renewal. That suits a team that budgets a year at a time; check that it suits yours.
Whichever tool you pick, budget review time. Averi offers scheduling and auto-publish, while RankControl ships with auto-publish switched off. Either way, someone should spend an hour or two a week reading drafts and adding what only your team knows; customer examples and real numbers are the details that get a page quoted.
What people say
Independent opinion on Averi is thin so far. Three reviews on Product Hunt give it 5.0, too few to lean on, and we didn't find it on G2 or Trustpilot. Reddit and X searches mostly surfaced companies with names like Averi's and a few posts by agencies and partners who'd worked on it, with no customer discussion we could cite.
Which wins AI search visibility?
Our pick for AI search visibility is RankControl.
Averi is a content engine at a price startups can manage. Its view of AI search stops at the clicks that land on your site, it leaves off-site links to you, and getting out needs 30 days' notice.
RankControl runs the full loop for one price. Your buyers' questions become the plan, articles get written and published on your domain, outreach gets drafted, and six engines are checked every week. Month one ends with a calendar of titles, articles going out on the dates you chose and four weeks of readings on where you stand.
With enough hours you could do all of it yourself, writing and publishing the pages, chasing links and running the six-engine check each week. Or let RankControl's agents handle it every month while you get on with the product. Already paying for Averi? Our guide to switching from Averi lists what to export before you go.
