Every article moves through four steps: it is planned, written, reviewed, and published. You can do each step by hand, or let two switches run the middle of it for you.
Plan
Plan Content puts titles on the calendar under Content → Calendar. Each title sits on its scheduled day. To move one, drag it to another day. That is the only thing that changes a date: editing an article, publishing it, or changing its date inside your CMS never moves the card.
Before a title is written you can change its title, its target keyword, and its generation settings from the card.
Write
Auto-write, under Brand Control → Publishing → Pipeline, writes each planned article before its scheduled day. With it off, nothing is written until you press Write now on a card. Write now works for titles that are due or overdue and for titles up to three days ahead.
Auto-write can be turned on once one article is confirmed live on your site. Write and publish the first article yourself, and the switch becomes available. It also stays off while planned titles sit on past days: drag them forward, write them now, or delete them first.
Review
A written article waits as a draft. Open it to read it, edit it, and change its images. Publish from the editor when it is ready. Drafts never expire.
Publish
Auto-publish, next to Auto-write, publishes each article on its scheduled day to your active destination. With it off, you publish each one yourself from the editor.
Two rules hold whatever the switch says:
- News and trending articles always wait for your approval.
- Articles scheduled for today go out today. Older drafts in the backlog publish a few a day behind them. Publishing by hand has no daily limit.
After publishing
RankControl checks that the article renders on your site and shows the live address on the card. Later edits push to the same post.
If the destination refuses the article, the card holds it and shows the destination’s reason, with a link to that destination’s guide. Fix the destination, then press Publish on the article to try again. Nothing publishes twice.
